03/06/2006 : Disney Security
| This year like last my employers paid for me to go to what is known as Lotusphere, Its a place where IT Geeks such as myself can go and get lost in the world of IBM Lotus Products and learn some pretty cool stuff I can use in day to day jobs at work. The other excellent thing about this apart from getting geeked up to the eyelids on code (yes code, not coke) is that it is held at no less than Walt Disney World, which is pretty darn sweet in my book. So we stay in a disney resort for the duration (a week) and get to go round Florida a bit and see some great stuff including IBM renting out a theme park for all 5000 of us attending the conference. One night though I was waiting on a bench for my boss to come meet me at the Reception when a man all togged up in Security gear waltzed passed I swear to god I nearly pissed myself there and then for this gentlemen was decked out in "Walt Disney World" Security gear. Floods of Irony drifted through my mind as I conjoured up thoughts of him trying to stop a pissed up tourist acting like a clown in the most friendly of ways saying stuff like "Whats up Doc" D'D'D'D'D'D'D'D'D' Dont be naughty. or using an anvil or 10Ton weights as weapons against people. My point...Well I just dont think theres anything less intimidating than a man in security gear with Mickey Mouse on his badge and hat. Well maybe Jimmy Cranky with a Banana in his hand threatening to break my kneecaps. Oh the irony... | |
